We are having the pornography talk today, I know, it can be a scary topic and we’re going to take it head-on to give you the tools to feel confident in having these conversations.

What do I say? How do I bring it up? If I talk about it will that MAKE them look for porn?? What if they don’t want me talking about it at all?!

Cath Hakanson is a sex educator, sexual health blogger (Sex Ed Rescue) and nurse in Australia. Cath is with me today to answer all of these questions and to give you tools to start the conversation no matter the age of your child.

Your children will be exposed to pornography, it’s not a question of “if,” but “when.” The goal of this episode is to help you start these conversations, calm some of your concerns, encourage you to start these talks (Yes, TALKS) about pornography with your kids. You can do this!!

What lengths do you go to meet expectations? For most men, sexual performance is one where, no pun intended, men go to great lengths for an extra inch or two. Men also compare themselves with others in regards to sexual stamina, girth and so on. Some even get alterations that are dangerous and ineffective in the long run.

Today we are talking today about PE, Penis diseases, delayed ejaculation the P Shot and penis elongation. These topics are topics people don’t typically like talking about. We are addressing them with a board-certified urologist because it really is at the heart of what many men are concerned about. We are taking these difficult topics head on because some men take desperate actions to change their sexual experience which long term causes harm.

Dr Brandeis is the Director of Clinical Excellence for GAINSWave. He has served as the Chief of Urology at John Muir Hospital for the past 8 years. As Chief of Urology he helped to start the Surgical Robotics Program at the Concord Campus in 2002. He is the lead trainer for Male Sexual Wellness for REVIVE.

Lara Briden is on the show with me today. She has over 25 years experience working with women and issues with menstruation. She has followed the cutting edge research dealing with periods. She’s on the show today to give us a sneak peak into her upcoming presentation called “Ovulation Matters” at the Rocky Mountain Sex Summit (RMSS) on November 16. 2019

In this episode we talk about the evidence in research that has been coming out. Some common misconceptions, issues with hormonal birth control, what actions you can take with nutrition to address some common symptoms and the topics she’ll be covering at the RMSS.

This is such an important topic because 3.75 billion people in the world are female bodied individuals. Almost all of them experience menstruation. It is such a common experience and has historically been under-researched and many women suffer from PCOS, endometriosis, irregular and painful periods. Frequently told that it’s normal and to just “suffer through it.” Lara is here to share the news that it does not need to be something to suffer through.

What do I do about Snap Chat and the possibility of my teen sending nudes? If masturbation is against my beliefs how do I bring it up with my teen while following my values? How do I get my teen to respect boundaries?

Dr Holly Richmond is on the show with me again, this time to address boundaries with teens.We are talking implicit and explicit communication in the family, how that affects teen behavior, why the “lockdown” parenting style is problematic and ways to teach your teen boundaries.

This is such an important topic because of the amount of teens who have access to electronic devices now days and how demanding action from a teen can be as easy as telling a baby to stop crying. Dr Holly Richmond and I explore the conversations to be having with your children right now to prep them to become teens who know boundaries, set their own boundaries and respect boundaries. We also explore methods to approach masturbation and values and helpful conversation starters when approaching teens about sexual health.

This interview is unique because we will be speaking to individuals who identify themselves with a more orthodox religious belief. While his book is directed toward the Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The discussion is relevant to anyone who is planning on being in a committed relationship while participating in religion.

What is an STD? What are STIs? What’s the difference? Probably one of the first questions Jenelle is asked anytime she speaks about STDs. It’s a great question and probably a question your teenager has probably asked you before.

When someone “comes out” in their sexual/gender orientation one of the first questions is “what does that mean for their relationship with God?” This question is based on the social assumptions of them leaving a religious belief and needing to “gain” a spirituality somewhere else. What if an individual who identifies as “queer” has all the spirituality in themselves? What if this is the case for all of us?

Braxton speaks with Jerry Buie, LCSW about queer spirituality. Jerry gives a history of how queer individuals have been revered in different cultures and indigenous peoples. He explores the way we look and experience “spirituality” in our interactions with others especially if you are, or know someone who identifies as queer.

In a world where all of us live in a society that has a dominant religious belief, there is room for exploring what spirituality means, how to explore your own spirituality and how to be supportive and connected to your yourself, your child or your grandchild who identifies as queer.
